An Everett man accused of brandishing a knife and making racial slurs at a black man at a bus shelter in Seattle's Northgate neighborhood was charged Wednesday with attempted second-degree assault and malicious harassment, the state's hate-crime law. Even the Eugenicists didn't believe that skin color alone could be used as a reliable racial guide. Unfortunately for them, their 'science' never quite explained what WAS a reliable racial characteristic - or more importantly, why race was significant, once you discard the assumptions and myths which accompany racial attitudes and take in to account things like class.
