![]() NSM: We all agree (at least you and I) that the standardized education is not perfect. We all can agree that History is missing some facts, that biology is one-sided towards the theory of evolution, and that the USA is NOT a melting pot where we all melt into one mixed-race with one culture. Truthfully, History ignores the Celtic Culture, biology misses the similarities between trees and bones in favor of the similarities between monkeys and humans, and the USA is actually more of a "QUILT" ---where each unique cultures is represented but not melted together. NSM: I'm not trying to convince you to change your views, I am simply trying to improve your opinion of the "pro-diveristy-crowd" so that you can fine-tune your speeches before the big day. Diversity is not a melting pot. Diversity is not erasing your particular race at all. In fact, the continued existence of your race depends on the existence of diversity. That might sound a little far-fetched to you, but consider the life-patterns on the Great Barrier Reef: the part of the reef thats in calm water has no life on it at all because in calm water there was no challenge to breeding so all the life-forms reproduced non-stop until there was too much life for the given amount of space and food, and so everything died-out and now there is no life there at all. On the part of the reef thats in rough water, waves do not allow unlimited reproduction. There is a constant challenge to each specie's reproduction and thus the life only reproduces at a rate that is supportable by the amount of space and food and thus each species is preserved and thus we have a colorful reef in the rough seas. No one color is eliminated, but on the calm part, all of the colors were eliminated. Diversity is not melting all the races together at all. Diveristy IS the balance beam that keeps each culture thriving. You might think that the white race is shrinking, and that IS TRUE, however, that is a sign that the white race is merely balancing itself out to accomadate the conditions on this earth. Thus, the shrinking of the white race is actually a preservation tool. And the diveristy crowd is NOT supporting a melting pot at all, they are supporting the quilt instead. Each race has its benefits. You might disagree, but then again, in the calm part of the reef, all the different life forms thought that life was perfect as well until they all died-out due to a lack of challenge. Remember, the loser always thinks that they're winning AT FIRST! ![]()

Celtic Traditions
Submitted by Crusty on Sun, 07/02/2006 - 7:42pm.The heat kills me too! I hike midday all the time, have for several years. Today I hiked barefoot. What a delightful experience! Now I clean those trails myself so I might as well enjoy the fruits of my efforts. Nothing better than pine needle coated trails and cool earth and lush ferns on a hot day. Well except water, which is where we headed after the protest. I went wading in the Fetid Lake of Doom and laid under the trees in Sylvester Park. Its challenging to cool off downtown. Budd Bay is pretty polluted. I checked the lake's pollution levels before I went in. The ecology there is definately in an uproar and I believe there are caiman. I just don't worry about critters. I do worry about toxic substances. I am profoundly allergic to them and to a lot of man-made things, like medication and synthetic fibers haha. But geesh, I am immune to poison ivy and oak, and I can just wash off the giant hog weed without a problem. You ought to join our next lake cleanup effort. Its magical out there beyond the trees and around the little islands and logs. I find it harder to ground on algae covered rocks and mud than on earth, and its slow going, but well worth it. There are really far more ducks and minnows and shells and interesting weeds and moss and feathers in the lake than trash. The brambles on the banks are hollowed out by the water too and make for all kinds of interesting caves and hollows.
The Celts had a lot of wisdom to share about respecting nature and all her gifts. I plan to read a lot more about it.
Soldier's a Druid
Submitted by Soldier for War on Mon, 07/03/2006 - 4:13am.Soldier is a druid: A scholar, teacher, learner, pastor, medical doctor, witch doctor, historian, storyteller (although not a full on bard, just a druid), musician, crazy athelete, poet, environmental 'scientist', plant specialist, genetecist, actor, chef, asronomer, astrologer, and Soldier has been authorized to hold the scales of Justice.
Soldier studied with Native American tribes for 12 yrs and with an Irish Druid for 3 years, but Soldier is neither Irish nor Native American, although Soldier is a little bit of everybody and everything. Everything in my Druid Education revolves around the polarities that swirl together in the ying yang. The name Soldier for War demonstrates the polarity of fighting for cause while living for peace. I am for war and peace at the same time. That is one essential element of the forgotten Celtic Traditions. Learn the duality of life and many mysteries will be revealed as Truth.
For today I would like to leave you with a Gaelic word that means very much to me and that demonstrates the duality of black and white that us "jokers" embrace:
"GLAM DICIN"
Try to find the definition yourself.
Word to the wise: pick and choose your books carefully!!!!!
Pick and choose those books carefully!!!!!!
There are only a couple good books that actually reflect the actual Celtic Traditions.
Remember: GLAM DICIN!
(embrace polarity---not the definition btw, just a hint)...
