Don't they know we're dead serious about this reptile thing and have no time for frivolity or laughing?
Site operators report that citizens often mirror the content they find on sites by posting content that is similar in nature or tone. That is not to say posters don’t discuss substantive and newsy issues on lighter bulletin board sites, or that they don’t announce church fairs or joke around on issue-driven sites. OlyBlog, which teems with the political back-and-forth enjoyed by the activists of Olympia, Washington, also has a bizarre joke running through many posts about a lizard called a caiman. Mentioning a caiman is an in-joke, a way to signify a poster’s community membership.

It seems to me that this

It seems to me that this person does not realize the severity of the situation....or perhaps this article was posted as a cover, something to lower the defense level of the people of Olympia.

The Caimanatti have their tendrils everywhere

I suspect there are caiman bloggers out there.  No doubt there is much disinformation as the result of such blogging.  No that I think about it I can just imagine any cafes close to the FLOD have seen their fair share of caiman if they have free wi-fi.  I imagine you'll be able to tell them by the mugs they use:

Brave

Norm and Crenshaw are brave men speaking out in the land where the Caiman Bedtime Story is the story that must be told to each and every child.

Beware.

This has nothing to do with anything...

But the intersection of Crenshaw and Sepulveda in L.A. is actually in a nice place, no? I'm a little vague on the whole L.A. grid but I seem to remember that...
»

you would be right on that

The intersection of Crenshaw and Sepulveda is actually in Torrance, CA.  There is a Starbucks at that location. If you watch police programs like Cops a lot you will see that the scene of the crime is often on Crenshaw, but that would be some distance away from Crenshaw and Sepulveda. Nothing really remarkable about the location in Torrance, but it kind of has a ring to it.  I considered other names and discarded them, amongst them was Slauson La Cienega.  I liked Beverly Rampart as well, notable for the intersection where the original Tommy's is located.
