Borat is as much as comedy as it is a documentary. The audience was silent during the fraternity scene ("He hitchhikes a ride with shamefully ignorant and misogynist frat boys.").

Baron Cohen certainly went to every length to make the film as real as possible:

The fact that Cohen was almost arrested during filming by the FBI is testament to the power of his outlandish humour and razor-sharp satire on anti-Semitism, misogyny and racism.

If you don't know what the Borat character is about, here is a YouTube from an "Ali G" episode (the HBO show Borat is from. Also, keep in mind when watching that Cohen is Jewish).

OH my

Thanks for the youtube link, I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go catch that in theatre.

I can't believe you didn't

I can't believe you didn't know about "Borat." Be advised, there is a tremendous amount of male nudity.

I could go on forever about that, though. For instance: Why does Brokeback Mountain generate condemnation from nearly every religious group as being the collapse of civilization, yet the character "Borat" is seen in his movie romping around with his manager full frontal? The only difference between the two is that in Brokeback the situation is portrayed as a loving situation (e.g. the same emotion involved with heterosexual relationships) while in Borat it is more fraternity-type nudity.

AAAAAAAaaaand suddenly I'm a little less excited about the movie. I'll probably still go watch it but I'd rather have the opposite gender nude. Just a personal bias I suppose

I wasn't excited to see it,

I wasn't excited to see it, either.

But I can't believe that an individual associated with the medical profession would be so squeamish as to pass up a great comedy because of a minute or two of male nudity.

Also, the male nudity is worth the payoff. Let's just say it's used to upset a conference of mortgage brokers.

Afraid of the comparisons of hardware? I thought Janet helped you work through your issues about size, Norm.

Ok, what's with taking

Ok, what's with taking potshots at genital size on the blog lately? I'm thinking there are a few men on the blog ( women too? ) that are having body issues. Did you need to talk with someone Rick?

»

Hey,

I'm not the one who is afraid to see male naughty bits displayed in full Technicolor (with Dolby Digital Sound) on the silver screen, am I, now? No, no. That would be you, Norm.

I think you may have misread

I think you may have misread me, let me help ya out:

Quote 1: AAAAAAAaaaand suddenly I'm a little less excited about the movie.

Quote 2: ...more on the just not as thrilled side.

Neither of these comments seem to stem from fear. Rick I'm thinking this may be a classic case of "projection"

It's under 2a. 2nd bullet of the paragraph. If you need some help confronting your unconscious wishes you should let the blog know, I'm sure someone can help you out.

Best wishes,
