bubbaz posting the link to Cartman selling fetuses over the phone made me look around for some more of my favorite "South Park" moments.

The Mormon episode and explanation of Joseph Smith is hilarious.

And then, of course, there's Cartman dealing with hippies.

Ma'am, I need to clear out your Giggling Stoners and your Drum Circle Hippies right now or soon they're going to attract something much worse: the College Know-It-All Hippie.

Last week's "South Park" dealt with the double-standard of a teacher having sex with a student (e.g. a male is going to prison for a while; a female is getting probation) and ripped on "Dog: The Bounty Hunter" (I don't watch "Dog" that much, but having the two cracked out co-workers of his was hilarious. Daaaaaa, that's what you get when you mess with tha Dog!).

Scientology

I loved the Tom Cruise episode.

The second most

The second most controversial episode.

I still think the Mary episode (in which a statue of Mary is bleeding because she is having her period) tops the Scientology episode, but I definately couldn't stop laughing when they showed what Scientologists believe (in the same manner the Mormon belief was shown) with the words "This is what they actually believe" running at the bottom.

They ripped into "Family Guy" last season, too. Evidently Matt and Trey aren't big fans of the show (or Michael Moore and how their stance on firearms was portrayed in Bowling for Columbine. Moore got his treatment in Team America: World Police).

It was my understanding that

It was my understanding that the Family Guy show was all in fun and that the Family Guy ripped back. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyhow, in a fight, I gotta go with Family Guy, they have size and tenacity.

There's an entire section

There's an entire section (Criticism of Family Guy) on the subject at Wikipedia.

Interview:

What's the meanest thing ever said to you before, during or after a gig?

Matt Stone: When people say to me, “God, you guys have one of the best shows on television. You and Family Guy.

I like how they brought it

I like how they brought it back for a little bit last week when Cartman found out he'd be the hall monitor.

Ah-ah-authoritae?

My last post before the

My last post before the weekend.

And for the record, I thought Wednesday night's South Park was hilarious. If you've seen the movie and been watching the show for a while, there are episodes related to people going to hell which give a better understanding as to why so many people who many wouldn't associate with going to hell (police officer who had been shot, Ghandi, Princess Diana, etc.) are alongside others who you would (Hitler, Gacy, and so forth) in the show.

They're basically lampooning Christianity for the belief set that if one does not believe in Christ they are are damned, regardless of their actions here.

At any rate, this week Satan had a "Hell on Earth 2006" party. It was obviously making fun of the girls who appear on "My Super Sweet 16" (and toward the end implied that these girls and their parents are in fact worse than Satan).

It was a costume party, so Hitler appeared as the Verizon "Can you hear me?"-guy (funny) and John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Ted Bundy as "The Three Murderers" (aka "Three Stooges"), complete with sound from the old show.

Evidently showing Steve Irwin at the party with a stingray still in his chest didn't go over well in some circles, though. When I checked CNN.com today one of the sidelinks was South Park mocks Steve Irwin. I used the "Internets" and "the Google" and did a search of "South Park, Steve Irwin." Evidently Australia's Herald Sun had an article last week about the episode before it aired:

But one regular US viewer who felt compelled to post an entry on the official South park website said the creators had "sunk to new lows".

"It's just not the same as Tom Cruise being a closet gay because there's some funny subject matter. I felt almost embarrassed for you guys."

In England an organization called Mediawatch UK is pressing that the episode not be aired.

We also learned in the show that if you stand in front of a mirror and say "Biggie Smalls" three times he will actually show up and shoot you.

Having Butters sing "I'm goin' goin', back, back, to Cali, Cali" when he and Notorious were on the plane was pretty funny, too.
