Suzanne Swift's trial is happening at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, 12/13. If you would like to show support for Suzanne at exit 119 at Fort Lewis, and possibly attend the trial (we are hoping this will be possible), a carpool is forming at the downtown Batdorf & Bronson at 8 a.m. Wednesday, 12/13. At this point, we have 8 spaces for passengers. Please meet us at B&B if you would like to participate.

The main action to support support Suzanne Swift will be WEDNESDAY December 13th at 9am

Free Suzanne Swift! Jail the war criminals!

Come support Suzanne Swift at her trial tomorrow, Wednesday December 13, 2006, at 9am at Ft. Lewis

Army Spc. Suzanne Swift, facing a redeployment to Iraq while serving under the command of the same individuals that allowed her to be raped and sexual harassed during her first deployment in Iraq, suffered a breakdown due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and went Absent With Out Leave (AWOL) rather than subject herself to the horrors she experienced at the hands of her fellow soldiers during her first tour of duty.

Suzanne was arrested for refusing to deploy and her court hearing will be tomorrow morning at Ft. Lewis. Suzanne has signed a statement saying what happened to her, and the military wants to do a summary court-martial with her, saying that she missed movement and went AWOL—giving her up to 30 days in confinement. They are also demanding that she then stay in the military until January of 2009.

Join Suzanne's mother, Sarah Rich, and her supporters at Ft. Lewis tomorrow to demand justice!

Do you know how the hearing turned out, Wally?

I was there at the vigil for a while, but couldn't get into the hearing.

She pled guilty

She Pled Guilty and Justice Wasn't Served

She pled guilty. But her assailants have been given a free pass. They haven't been subjected to the due process of a full investigation. In fact, her assailants haven't been held accountable for their sexual abuses and trespasses. That's wrong. Severely wrong. The military system has taken advantage of Suzanne Swift. The military system has lost some respect from me. Why should the military be exempt from the overarching principle of justice?

One assailant was disciplined

The guy who harassed her while she was on base was disciplined, although in my opinion not adequately -- apparently there were quite a few witnesses when he told her to report for duty the next morning "naked, in my bed."  The two officers who she says harassed her/coerced her into "command rape" while she was deployed are off scot-free.

So is there a good link

into what has happened with the investigation into her allegations of rape?
