1. There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq during the month of January..... In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American City, about as deadly as the entire war torn country of Iraq. 2. When some claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following; FDR...led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year. Truman...finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year. John F. Kennedy....started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson...turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year. Clinton...went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions. 3. In the two years since terrorists attacked us President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation. We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick killing a woman.

WF

You are beginning to look more like a troll. Bring it around to something substantive, or you'll not be posting here any more.

As with others...

...who've gone before you: you're always welcome back. Just keep it about the ideas and not the name-calling.

WhiteFeather?

I'm thinking if WF wants a native american sounding name he should consider Walking Eagle.

Email chain letters?

January what year? I have to question the usefulness of posting an email chain letter without identifying it for what it is. This text has been floating around the net since 2004, with numerous rebuttals that contain better authenticated facts. Google any key phrase in here to find a few.

No one knows how many died in Iraq, or in other places, during the month of January 2006 because of this war. Our young men, and why are we minimizing the loss of their lives? The Iraqi soldiers? Civilian casualites? Losses in civil unrest fostered by this war? Further terrorist killings in other places? All the wounded and families shattered? The future lives that will be lost because we have destabilized the middle east? A chain email minimizing all the loss of life is propaganda.

What bothers me more than

What bothers me more than the content of WF's post is the fact that it was apparently just a canned presentation written by someone else-- in short, plagarism-- not requiring any original thought, research, or critical review. In academics, that gets you expelled.

Even more heinous

What you're writing about is not local. Get your own blog if you want to bloviate about out of Oly stuff, but when you're here, keep it local. Damnit.

I think WF is of local interest

People like White Feather, or Walking Eagle as I prefer to call him, are of local interest. It is good to know that there are still these sorts of people in our neighborhoods and we should keep and eye on them. Let this blog be sort of a Sex Offenders Watch list where they keep track of sex offenders. In this case we are keeping track of right wing nutjobs. We need to keep an eye on these people. Reeducation will probably not work so to just know about them will help us better protect ourselves from them.
