Rep. Brian Baird is coming to Olympia.

Town Hall Meeting in Olympia
Friday, September 21
7:00 p.m.
Capital High School Theater
2707 Conger Ave., NW

Here is my rundown of an off the record conversation I was in on with Baird a few weeks ago. Needless to say, not much to say.

My tomatoes are finally ripe

It might be fun to see Rep. Baird defend his conscience. The one that apparently allows him complicity in the ongoing deaths of thousands of Iraqi civilians and hundreds more U.S. troops. I'm one of those narrow-minded people who are quite willing to overlook his marginal positive accomplishments in congress when compared to the evil that is encouraged by his butt-kissing of the war machine. But I guess if we show up Friday night and start bitching to either of Baird's faces, we'd better wear our taser-proof underwear as a way of defending our free speech rights. Regarding the Meeting

I recently received a letter from Representative Baird in regard to the Town Hall meeting.

I have been meaning to write a Letter to the Editor of the Olympian about my experience at the Town Hall, and to share my concerns about what I heard Rep. Baird say... But the experience was so difficult, aggravating, frustrating, sad, etc. that I haven't been able to muster the courage. Hopefully I am getting closer to finding the right words. I posted a copy of the letter with some of my thoughts: www. flickr.com/photos/rwhitlock...
