Repost: Come to Tacoma! We need you to represent the independent media voices of Olympia- of course dressed in court attire.

Today it was announced that Lacey Phillabaum will be the first to testify against Briana Waters.

Phillabaum has been put on the witness list for tomorrow, and it is uncertain which part of the day she will be called. There is also a chance earlier witnesses could take longer than expected, pushing Lacey's testimony back until Friday. It is important for people to be packing the courtroom whenever she is up there testifying. We are putting out a call for witnesses to come and observe court in support of Briana for both days!

If you can come to federal court in Tacoma, Washington the next 2 days, please plan to do so and spread
the word. You will need picture id, no laptops, food, etc., and PLEASE dress appropriately for court or don't come anywhere near the courthouse (this is a jury trial).

As was brought up in opening statements by the Defense on Tuesday, much of the evidence that the prosecution's case is relies upon is based on the mutually contradictory testimony of Lacey Phillabaum and Jennifer Kolar, the two key government witnesses against Ms. Waters. The questioning and cross-examining of these key witnesses are likely to be some of the most pivotal of the case, and it is very important that supporters of Briana show up to bear witness.

Basically, If you are coming from far away, we are suggesting people spend the night here in Tacoma. If you need housing, there are couches available, and if you leave your things in a car to come into the courthouse, you will find plenty of friendly and helpful faces that can put you up among Briana's supporters!

Also, supporters in Olympia have organized carpools leaving daily from the Grocery Outlet Westside parking lot, (at the corner of Harrison Ave. and Division St.) at 7:30 AM.

The Federal Court is located at 1717 Pacific Ave in Tacoma, WA and court will begin promptly at 9:00 am.

Dress Appropriately

Does this mean that those who are not dressed appropriately will be considered agent provocateurs?

It's too bad because there are some people who are may not be able to attend because of an inability to "dress appropriately."

think about it

no, bert, that is not what it means. its simply this. if you want to support briana, and can come to the court, you are encouraged to do so. you can wear jeans, or whatever, but please don't look exceptionally counterculture or anarchist. this is because the jury makes an opinion of briana in part based on how the people who are there to support her present themselves, and if we present as a bunch of punks, anarchists, whatever, then they will think of her that way and their opinion will be skewed in her disfavor

Sounds like a great way for

Sounds like a great way for those who believe she is guilty to undermine the process.  Not to mention the attempt to lead the jury away from the reality of the situation.

how does one "look" anarchist?

which one of these is the anarchist?

The shady guy in the bottom

The shady guy in the bottom picture. Something about him freaks me out.

If I'm not mistaken the kind lady in the middle picture (uh..er..as opposed to the other pictured ladies I guess) was a meek housewife.

Oh, C'mon

You gotta give us the perceived anarchist view as well!

I've seen you wear a black hoodie.

Are you an anarchist?

It's understandable

It's her life that is on the line here. If you show up with more metal on your face than a cruise ship, and she's convicted, do you really want that thought in your head? Is it really that tough to tone down your apparel? Damn we live in a weird city.
