I beleive that the best alternitave for the lake is to turn it into a estuary like it used to be. There are many issues with the lake now and a estuary is the best way to solve them. The lake has beacome shallow beacuse of the sediment washing in from the Deschutes River this causes algae blooms, poor water quality, and temperatures to increase causing aquatic weeds to grow and take over. The only way to solve this without the expensive cost of dredging is to restore the estuary. Estimated cost for restoring the estuary ranges from $75 million to $90 million. Restoring the lake is estimated to cost beetween $79 million to $154 million.
