Now that it has started raining, has anyone gone out for Chantrelles yet? Are they out? Does anyone know, or want to tell, where to go look for them?

'shrooms

My wife, who works in the woods, has been bringing them home for weeks. I don't know where she's found them so I can't tell you. What I want to know is why your request for mushrooms made it to the front page but mine for local organic free range chickens didn't. Meat eater discrimination!

Thanks for the info.

What part of the area does your wife work in? Is it near Olympia? When I posted this message I selected create content. Maybe you put yours in another section? Did you ever find any local free range chickens? I'm looking for egss by the way.

You're welcome

Well Nicki I looked carefully and saw yours is a forum and mine was a blog entry. So I made a forum and will wait to see what happens about birds. As for eggs, the Food Co-op has a nice selection but the birds are all frozen whole. I like to cut them into pieces myself. The wife's territory is well south of Oly but I'm sure they are coming up around here too. We've had good luck in the past searching Capitol Forest.

Saw The Manhattan Transfer instead.

Thanks CIAGuy

I've heard that Capital Forest is a good place. I've never gone shrooming so I am a little worried I might pick the wrong kind. I know what they look like but YIKES! if I get some poisonous ones!
