An article in today's Olympian, "Constant evolution in the arts", doesn't even mention the monthly art walks that have been occurring since January. Interesting. The last one was around 15 or 16 houses and lit up the whole neighborhood with people of a variety of ages.

I do wonder if maybe the house party art walks aren't promoted along certain avenues (for instance, press releases to the Olympian) because certain segments of Olympia society just "aren't invited." Or maybe the Olympian knows that its main audience does not include greeners.

Thoughts?

read the "0" article

ugh, Micah, did you actually read the article?  Both the print version and the on-line version do mention the Raccoon Collective and the Westside neighborhood arts walks, as well as a quote from "local artists" crediting Evergreen  "for an infusion of artistic types who stick around."  love, etc Ruby

Ah, didn't notice the

Ah, didn't notice the sidebar there that mentions the RC. The body of the article doesn't directly recognize the neighbor art walks at all (the art walk to which it refers is the downtown Arts Walk). Apologies.

ps the "0" reportage on Raccoon Arts Collective Arts Walk

ps Hey Micah, Molly Gilmore, a freelancer for the Daily Zero and a very cool lady, did an extensive article about the Raccoon Collective and the West Side and East Side Arts Walks, with pics of Calvin Johnson and Tender Forever, and quotes from Evan Schoepke and Cameron Thaut, etc just last Thursday:

http://www.theolympian.com/arts/story/115255.html

She also wrote a seperate article about Swap-O-Rama-Rama at Evergreen in the very same Thursday weekend edition of the Olympian.

Send her timely info about events that you would like to see covered in the "0", and she just might oblige!

Hope you are feeling the love, love, etc Ruby
