Sep 15 2007 - 9:00am Sep 15 2007 - 3:00pm [via email] OLYMPIA – Thurston County will accept tires, appliances, computers and other recyclable items for minimal or no cost at two Community Recycle Day events. The events will be held from • Saturday, September 15 at the South Sound Speedway, 3720 183rd Ave. S.W. in Rochester. These events are for residential recycling only, not business recycling. The items do not need to be in working condition, unless they are being donated to Goodwill. If your item is working, you may want to consider giving it to someone you know or through the website: www.2good2toss.com. To help cashiers at Community Recycle Days track inventory, residents should bring a tally sheet of items they are taking to the events. The tally sheet is available online at: www.co.thurston.wa.us/wwm (click on Recycling, then click on Community Recycle Days). The tally sheet is also included on the back page of the county’s latest edition of “Talkin’ Trash,” which has been mailed to all Thurston County households. Items accepted for minimal rate: • Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners: $15 each (four appliances per vehicle).Items accepted for FREE: • Scrap metal including de-valved propane tanks. No barbed wire, no motorized vehicles and no major vehicle parts (check with a scrap metal recycler or wrecking yard). For more information, visit www.co.thurston.wa.us/wwm.
