CounterPunch editors Alexander Cockburn & Jeffrey St.Clair and Seattle economist Mike Whitney will speak about the new CounterPunch book, Hopeless: Barack Obama and the Politics of Illusion. Q & A and book signing to follow.

Alexander Cockburn is one of America’s best-known independent journalists.  In addition to co-editing CounterPunch online magazine with Jeffrey St. Clair he has contributed to many publications including the New York Review of Books, Harper’s Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly and the Wall Street Journal.  His column “Beat the Devil” has appeared in The Nation magazine since 1984.  He has written or co-edited numerous books including Corruptions of Empire, A Dime’s Worth of Difference, and Five Days That Shook The World.

Jeffrey St. Clair is an award winning investigative journalist, author and co-editor of CounterPunch.  His many essays and books concerning the environment, including Born Under A Bad Sky, have earned him the reputation as “The best eco-journalist in the nation.  Period.”

Mike Whitney is a Seattle-based economist who writes regularly for CounterPunch.
