David Barsamian to speak in Olympia, Thursday, October 25th.

David Barsamian will give two talks, based on his recent trip to Iran, and his long-term study of the Middle East:

“Targeting Iran: U.S. Foreign and Military Policy in the Middle East: Iran, Iraq, and Palestine-Israel”

David Barsamian is the author of the recently published book, Targeting Iran, which also includes contributions from Noam Chomsky, Erwand Abrahamian and Nahid Mozaffari. These talks are especially important given the real possibility of a U.S. military attack against Iran. Barsamian is a radio broadcaster and writer who has been a major force in shaping alternative media. He is the founder and director of Alternative Radio, the syndicated weekly talk program heard on over 125 radio stations here and overseas. His interviews and articles also appear regularly in The Progressive, The Nation, and Z Magazine. Barsamian is well known for his interviews with Noam Chomsky, Edward Said, Arundhati Roy, Tariq Ali, and Howard Zinn. These interviews have been the source of the many important books Barsamian has written.

Barsamian’s talks on Thursday, October 25th are free and open to the public. They are at:

  • 1. Noon,The Evergreen State College, Longhouse, 1007 B and C.
  • 2. 7 P.M., First Christian Church, 701 Franklin (7th and Franklin, downtown Olympia)
