Candidate Pust

Last night, Dick Pust and some friends were at Percival Landing holding signs at about the time the peace vigil gets underway. I said hi to them and welcomed them, but they needed to leave. I hope all of our candidates for council support peace, (and the peace vigil,) and are willing to look seriously and honestly at how our national policies are affecting people.

As he was leaving, Mr. Pust said something to the effect of, we have a great country. I said that I agreed, because I do agree, in some ways. However, I think it's a pretty ambiguous statement to make, in light of all the things "our country" has done in times recent and distant...

Glen Anderson asked Mr. Pust whether or not he would sign onto the Mayor's for Peace declaration. Mr. Pust said that he would have to do some research.

Both other candidates, Rogers and Buxbaum, have indicated that they would sign on. (However, this does not necessarily indicate that the peace vote is divided.)

Do some research, and then maybe vote for the candidate you think will do the best job to make Olympia, and the world, better for all people.

why did Pust have to leave?

I'm just wondering, Berd. (No sarcasm, no passive aggressive irony.) Does the Peace Vigil have a permit that reserves that space on Percival Landing at a certain hour?

Permit Reserving Space

Can you tell me more about why you are wondering?

'needed to leave', who the

'needed to leave', who the hell do you think you are?

Because you asked Pust to leave

I didn't know public space could be reseved in that way. I thought that areas like Percival Landing are usually fair game for anyone who wants to hold a sign.

If you are wondering if I am a Pust supporter, no, I am not.

Clarification

I did not tell Dick Pust that he or his friends "needed to leave." They told me that they needed to leave.

I am sorry that anyone would interpret my words differently. So sad. The vigil is open and welcoming to all. I hope that would be obvious by now.

Peace!
Berd

Why did you pick this photo Mathias?

You make Pust look like he's lying about the size of the last fish he caught.  Outrageous!

You're way off base

He's trying to figure out which invisible melon weighs more.
