d i s r u p t i o n is an event aimed at making more queer events accessible to folks in our community. have you been itching to have a discussion about ableism? interested in sharing your ideas about the mental health system? wanting to have a people of color only discussion? wish there was childcare offered at events? contact us about doing a workshop you can facilitate, or we can help find a facilitator for the workshop you want to exist.

:: we're excited for folks from out of town to visit pdx + participate, to lead workshops, to volunteer, to dance, and to eat

- domestic violence in queer communities
- being a fat ally
- gender policing in queer communities
- bike repair for sissies
- skillshare: gettiing the sex we want

AND FOR BANDS AND PERFORMERS FOR THE EVENING EVENTS!!

we're also looking for people to help us find the resources we need to maximize accessibility, and for folks who want to help us manage those resources, in the form of organizing at the conference, or coordinating volunteers, etc.

in order to save you the labor of responding in free form essay style, we've created a checklist of resources, skills, or connections you might have that you can share with D I S R U P T I O N. you can cut and paste the following list to a myspace message or email (contact information above and below). put an X next to the things that represent the resources or skills you want to share, and include additional comments at the end of the list.

please note that two additional lists follow: one is for participants, about accessibility needs, food needs, etc.; another is for those offering housing to partipants, and concerns accessbility specs, needs, and resources.

there is also a place to offer a workshop idea, and to offer your facilitation.

RESOURCE AND SKILLS:

i am an a.s.l. interpreter or i know someone who is, and can help interpret (please indicate if you or your friend has experience interpretting: it's okay if you don't!)

i have resources to support a.s.l. or audio accessibility

i know a language other than english, which is ________, and would like to translate for participants who don't speak english (please indicate if you have experience as a translator --- it's okay if you don't!)

i have resources and/or skills to support visual accessibility

i have experience organizing childcare

i would like to provide childcare and have documentation of a recent background check and previous experience providing childcare

i have experience verifying background checks and references, and can help manage that information about volunteers

i am certified in c.p.r and first aid and would like to be present as an emergency provider of these skills

i have experience with herbal or alternative health and/or mental health care and would like to offer my skills and resources as a healer for participants

i can offer herbal medicines and tinctures, nervines, etc.

i have experience with counseling, co-counseling, or providing mental health support, have a background check and/or references and relevant experience, and would like to support participants who need to take a break from workshops because of triggers, etc.

i have food resources to offer: donations from a workplace, experience gathering donated food, time and ability to call around requesting donations, time and ability to drive around and collect donations, etc.

i would like to help prepare and/or serve food at the conference

i plan on bringing a dish to the potluck meal (sunday afternoon), which is:

i am a musician or performer and would like to participate in the evening events

i will dance my ass off at the evening events

i have sound, light, or other resources to offer to the evening events

i have access to free photocopies

i have access to lumbar pillows, different kinds of support pillows and mats, supportive, ergonomic chairs and stools, or other body supports

i have access to mobility aids: crutches, canes, walkers, scooters, wheelchairs, etc.

i have access to a vehicle that i can share with organizers and volunteers (indicate limitations, availability, etc.)

i have access to a cot or similiar collapsible bed

i can offer warm blankets and pillows

i have housing to offer to partipants during the conference (please refer to housing addendum list for accessibility specifications)

i can build temporary wheelchair ramps

i have access to wheelchair ramp-building materials

i have access to buliding tools

i would like to coordinate volunteers / resources (circle one or both) for:
