Terra Commons will be hosting an Edible Forest Garden Work Party on Saturday May 31st, and Sunday June 1st to establish a demonstration forest garden at Circle Hawk Farm in South East Olympia 9404 Crete St. SE.

During this work party we will be doing hands on learning by sheet mulching lawn and planting an Edible Forest Garden.
Edible Forest Gardens consist of three main layers, with fruit and nut trees as the upper canopy, berries and other edible bushes as the middle layer and perennial vegetables and fruits as the ground cover.
The work party includes:
~Design and layout of trees and shrubs
~Planting trees and shrubs
~Sheet Mulching lawn
~Mushroom Inoculation

We will be there from 10am until 6pm both days with potluck lunches. Feel free to come for both full days, half days or just stop by when you can.
Please Park on the paved part of Crete Street, then walk in. Circle Hawk Farm is the first driveway to the left, come back and you will see us behind the barn.

DONATIONS NEEDED:
FOOD PLANTS: Hazelnut, Serviceberry, Fig, Blue Elderberry, Raspberry, Currant, Chestnut, Nootka Rose, Jerusalem Artichoke, American Persimmon, Green Tea, Monkey Puzzle, Autumn Olive, Siberian Pea Shrub.
WOODCHIPS: Maple, alder, willow, etc. NO CEDAR
CARDBOARD: Bring cardboard (not white or colored)
DONATIONS OF MONEY will go to purchase plants and planting supplies for Circle Hawk Farm and a donation to Terra Commons for doing the workshop. Terra Commons is a 501c3 non-profit. Mail checks to Terra Commons, 3725 36th Loop NW, Olympia, WA 98502.
