Who else is like me, and watches the election results on the computer, refreshing here and here?

If you are like me, let's chat. Oh yeah, and the polls start updating at 8:00 p.m.

I would join you,

But I'm headed out to Doug Mah's election night party. I hear there's celery sticks with peanut butter, and later in the night, Jenga!

I got two invites, Rhenda

I got two invites, Rhenda Strub's down at the Clubside Cafe and Sam Hunt's out in Lacey. Probably won't make it to either, but one of these days I'd like to go to an election night thingie.

one vote

they said i only get one vote, so I'm saving it for next year

Hi Emmett

I am glad to know I am not the only one who does the refresh thing. I was at a town hall meeting with Gov. Gregoire last night in Pierce County. There were a wide variety of questions, especially on education and the environment. Overall she was received very well. That strikes me as notable since she lost Pierce County in 2004.

damned government

Can't get anything right, especially my instant gratification.

Like all of three counties are reporting right now, so if Island, Jefferson and Lincoln counties were Washington, then Tim Eyman would win, the insurance companies would lose, and kids lose.

N/A

N/A is an update to the existing database.. earlier it said something like 6:38ish.. which means someone is already at the helm.

Mah Big Winner

The Olympian reports Mah has a large lead after early returns.  72% to 27%.

EG?

You have done the equivalent of ruining Christmas. Can't you at least wait for people to start unwrapping the night.. I mean it's nice to pretend you don't know the outcome...

Have a little tact man... BTW...

No Reports Yet?

Is something wrong at election HQ?

On the state site, Thurston

On the state site, Thurston is still reporting zeros, yet the Olympian has results? I dunno

For some reason the Olympian

For some reason the Olympian is getting what the Auditor's office isn't putting online, so here's the link to their site for what I assume are results.

The Olympian

has all the latest results on the front page.

oh, by the way

I'm surprised I didn't mention this earlier, I got a write in vote for school board. One of my buddies wrote me in. After a long, hard fought campaign though, I'm ready to concede to my worthy opponents.

Surprising

Jeanne Marie Thomas did very well in the primary. What happened?

Rhenda had surgery in the

Rhenda had surgery in the weeks leading up to the primary, so I think she wasn't getting out door belling as much as possible. I think the primary vote wasn't accurate, thankfully.

Elections

Wow, looks as if Hogan is not going doing well tonight. Looking forward to Mah, Ottavelli and Strub returning the council to some respectability.
»

County finally has results

County finally has results up.

Ottavelli, ok.

Rhenda: Yeah!

Mah: Meh (who are they going to appoint to take his seat now? That's what I want to know).

Jason Hearn you... You... You... Russ Olsen will be back in two years, you better believe it.

Crap, Prop. 1 got its teeth kicked in (the Thurston County version).

See you later Bob Van Schoorl.

I'm going to sleep now.

I was at an election party earlier, and a popular opinion

was that the outlying districts may be the only ones reporting so far, because it is weird that Strub is doing that much better than Thomas. So if that's true, and taking into consideration that the younger you are the later in the game you vote, I would expect Meta's numbers to rise somewhat, at least.

It totally sucks that Eyman's initiative is ahead. I hate that guy. Have you noticed he's always having his picture or video shot with a baby? I think they are all fake babies.

Speaking of kids, it also sucks that Prop. 1 is going down; don't people in this area think or read any more?

»

Hating Eyman

What does that have to to with the initiative?

I can only imagine that conversation.  The numbers will change but Meta would need around 81% of the remaining vote to win.  Ottavelli's got it locked up.  Strub should be able to hold on with close to half the ballots counted but it's possible Thomas could catch up.

»

The only knock I heard on

The only knock I heard on Prop 1 was that the campaign had very little in terms of specifics they could point to in terms of what the money would be spent on. That, and that it seems like they got a late start.

Thurston County elections

On the vote results questions .... Yesterday's election in Thurston County was all by mailed-in ballot.  No polling places, so no "precincts" to report in.  All the ballots received in the mail yesterday were quickly run through the scanner that counts them.  I'm assuming the ones left at the drop off boxes were picked up and counted, don't know.   Anything yet to be counted should only be ballots that were recently mailed and have yet to be delivered by the post office to the County.

The 1996 presidential

The 1996 presidential election was the last time things voted my way. At least the important things.

What this planet needs is a plague, or fire from the sky, to wipe out 75% of the population. Don't worry guys, 25% of 6 Billion is still 1.5 Billion, lots of Olympia can be spared.
