The electric "cars" are racing again tomorrow in Lacey. We went a couple of years ago and had a pretty good time. Lots of electric and alternative energy vehicles on display and the competition of the quiet speeders zipping around the track.

We are taking the grandsons to watch tomorrow if the weather cooperates. It's a great time, hope to see you there.

North America’s Great Ape: The Sasquatch
Saturday, May 3, 2008 @ 1 PM

Wildlife biologist Dr. John Bindernagel takes a look at the continent’s most misunderstood large mammal as he speak about his more than 30 years experience studying Bigfoot. He is the author of “North America's Great Ape: The Sasquatch.” Bindernagel’s work highlights some 150 Sasquatch reports and compares them with similar reports of great apes in Africa and Asia. He focuses on the behavior of Sasquatch, including its response to human presence. His field work consists of evidence gathered in the mountains of Vancouver Island, and the ecological questions surrounding the life of a great North American ape. The presentation will be preceded by a book signing hosted by the State Capital Museum Store from 10 AM to NOON. I am writing/calling to cordially invite you to one of the monthly potluck parties of the Olympia Reverts' Association, which typically happens on the first sunday of every month. For the month of May, our open circle has decided to invite Sister Asma Simmons and her delegation from SOSIS - Sisters of Sunnah Islamic Services. The topic is " DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AMONGST MUSLIMS, factors, causes and exploring solutions." We shall meet for a delicious potpourri of dishes from different countries and continents at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 4th. The gathering / open circle shall start punctually at 2:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

Do you need directions to the Lacey Library ? It is just off of College Street and 6th Ave (near St.Martin's University entrance.)

Attention organic gardeners – and gardener wanna-bes.

Interested in making your organic vegetable garden more productive and more sustainable? New to organic gardening and seeking experienced mentors? Interested in sharing resources, tools and surplus crops?

Join us at 5pm on Sunday May 4th at the organic garden at Lincoln Elementary School, 213 21st Ave SE.

The goal of this gathering is to establish a resource and support network for people who are seeking to live more sustainably by growing more of their own food using organic, biointensive, earth friendly techniques.

Please bring a dish to share (locally raised, organic food preferred), and your own non-disposable utensils.

We’ll share a meal and get to know each other from 5-6pm, then share ideas, wants, needs, hopes and dreams in an open discussion in the garden or the greenhouse from 6-7:30.

By the end of the evening we hope to have planted seeds that will grow into a network of people committed to helping each other increase the fertility of their soil while growing delicious, nutritious, organic food.
