The Youth Diversity Committee of the Olympia School District is hosting a youth forum at the Washington Center on the evening of May 29th at 7:00p.m. The forum is going to celebrate how Olympia is already an inclusive community and what further steps need to be taken in order to ensure that all members of the community continue to feel that sense of inclusion.

The event on the 29th is going to be a combination of spoken word, music, and visual presentations - all created and presented by students.

And on June 28-29 we will help Cy Englert turn his lawn into an Edible Forest Garden with Terra Commons www.terracommons.us. We can grow much of our food organically in our own yards for a more sustainable future for us and all on Earth - with fruit and nut trees, berry bushes and perennial vegetables.

Terra Commons will be hosting an Edible Forest Garden Work Party on Saturday May 31st, and Sunday June 1st to establish a demonstration forest garden at Circle Hawk Farm in South East Olympia 9404 Crete St. SE.

During this work party we will be doing hands on learning by sheet mulching lawn and planting an Edible Forest Garden.
