This is an invitation to women from all walks of life to attend a Women's Community Building Weekend at Fertile Ground Guest House in downtown Olympia the evening of Friday December 1st and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Community Building is a process developed by the late M. Scott Peck where participants experience and practice communitcation skills that create the possibility for deep human connection. Community can be described as a group of individuals who have learn how to communicate honestly with eachother, and whose relationships go deeper than their masks of composure.

There is a yearning in the heart for peace. In and through community lies the salvation of the world. - M. Scott Peck, The Different Drum

very interesting

I read this post with great interest, including the .pdf attachments.  I am wondering, since you have been a member of olyblog now for some 3 weeks, and you are apparently some sort of expert on community building, what do you think about our little olyblog community?  What do you make of our dynamics and how we relate to each other.  Are we headed in the right direction or do we need some help here? Personally i have been hugely impressed by the olyblog community and many times it makes me downright proud.  On a regular basis I have taken away something from this community that I apply somewhere in my life, hopefully for the betterment of my community.

olyblog community

From what I can tell, Olyblog seems to be a great way to stay informed about what is happening for a lot of people here in Olympia.. I'm still new to this. Though it is almost always strange for me to communicate with people I don't already know through a computer screen, I still appreciate having this resource and hearing what people have to share.

Also, I am not an expert on community building. I'm happy you read and were interested in what I posted.
