From the Olympian:

Twice a year, Olympia has a town hall meeting, sort of a mini- conference on key topics. In September, 270 people came to talk about improving downtown, with the focus on homelessness and safety.

This week, it's to find out what programs are most important to Olympia residents. Tuesday's town hall meeting is to set priorities for the city. According to the city of Olympia's Web site:

What: Olympia town hall meeting on "Balancing The Community Checkbook."

When: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. On the second Tuesday in January and the fourth Tuesday in September the Olympia City Council sets aside its usual Tuesday evening business meeting to listen to the community.
