On Sunday, September 10, at 1 p.m., Bernie Meyer, "The American Gandhi" will portray Gandhi's 1930 Salt March with a modern emphasis. The march will begin from the Capitol Steps and will proceed to the Public Market and Port Plaza where Gandhi will focus on creativity, nonviolent action, global warming, and environmental solutions and some youth and community folks will briefly respond to his challenge.

Don't miss this special one time screening of the award winning epic film "The Making of the Mahatma." It portrays the transformation of Gandhi from his early life in South Africa to what latter would be described as "the great soul'...the Mahatma.

""What occurred that led him & others to the great Satyagraha, the nonviolent method of what became known as the "Truth Force" one hundred years ago, September 11th, 1906 that won India it's freedom and shuck the reins of corporate/nation power?

We face many challenges today concerning the peace and well being of this beautiful planet, from global warming to peak oil to name a few. Come see this inspiring film that will challenge each of us to find resistance without violence, confrontation without enemies, victory without losers...the power to transform, the power to commit oneself, to seek solutions to the critical issues we all face, the power to win!

Following the film there will be an opportunity for a short Q&A. Everyone is invited to gather the following day,

Sept 10th at 1pm at the stairs of the State Capital to continue the awakening of self at this urgent time as we re-in act Gandhi's Salt Walk. The walk will go to the viewing tower on the boardwalk.

These Gandhi events are sponsored by a growing coalition of groups that include but are not limited to: The Olympia Fellowship of Reconciliation, Climate Solutions, The Olympia Food Coop, Olympia Movement for Justice & Peace

(if your group would like to be involved please contact the # below)
