Sep 3 2006 - 12:00pm [via omjp] Hi friends! This is in invitation for you to support the Immigrants and Workers Rights March that will be happening in Shelton next Sunday the 3rd of September. This is the very first march that immigrant folks in Shelton organize – there was a march in 1994 but it was organized by white allies. I know that there’s usually stuff going on in Oly, but I think it is very important to support this group of people who are stepping up in their community. Please come, bring friends and stuff to make noise (musical instruments VERY welcome). We are especially looking for a group of drummers who could be heading the march, as well as one or two bullhorns (I think that is the name of the piece of equipment). The march will start at noon in the park just west from Evergreen Elementary School - 900 W Franklin St, Shelton, WA. Coming from Olympia: Take Highway 101 towards Shelton. Take the Shelton City Center – Highway 3 exit. Keep going for 2-3 miles until you are in downtown Shelton. Turn left in Franklin. Keep going until you find the intersection of Franklin and 9th, pass Evergreen Elementary and on the right side is the Park. If you need more info give me a call: (360) 790 7825. And PLEASE forward to your friends and e-mail lists.
