Description: Positive Discipline is a workshop designed to give parents a clear vision, goals and techniques to facilitate healthy discipline. Candyce Lund Bollinger has been a parent educator at South Puget Sound Community College for the past 32 years and has offered private parenting services for 28 years. This presentation is part of a series of three offered by the Tumwater, Olympia and Lacey Timberland libraries that focus on the topics of bullying, discipline, and divorce/blended families.

Beginning Genealogy Workshop

Reflecting on Gaza

Marking the one year anniversary of the Israeli military assault on Gaza in 2014, the Rachel Corrie Foundation presents Reflecting on Gaza, with special guests Maxine Fookson, Dr. Steve Niva, Eitan Isaacson, and Mohammed Usrof.  Panelists will share their personal connections to the region and discuss 2014 events in Gaza, their impact, and what lies ahead.  A community discussion on how to prevent a repeat of last year's events will follow.  The event is at Traditions Cafe, 300 5th Avenue SW, in Olympia.
 

 

Tending Your Gut Garden

No Books Allowed: A Comedy Showcase at Olympia Library!

Pie in the Library: a Community Pie Contest

Calling all pie bakers – the Lacey Timberland Library, the Friends of the Lacey Library and Olympia Food Co-op are co-sponsoring the 2nd Annual Pie in the Library Pie Contest. Special guest judges will determine the most amazing pies in three categories: fruit, other (everything that isn't fruit), and teen/youth bakers. Guidelines will be available at the library information desk and on the Olympia Food Co-op website starting August 1. Beverages and pie will be served, prizes will be given, fun will be had.
