Join CISPES (Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador) for a super fun night of poetry, music and dancing, and political education!  Donations will benefit organizing efforts in El Salvador and in the US against neoliberalism, repression, and US intervention!  The Pena will take place at El Guanaco (next door to Traditions, on Water Street) from 7:00pm-2:00 am.  A 10-30 sliding donation is requested.
The night will begin at 7pm with the poetry of Bill Ransom about his experiences in El Salvador during the Civil War of the 80's.  Following Bill, our guest, Oswaldo Nataren from El Salvador will speak about recent student protests, the military occupation of the University of San Salvador during, and growing repression against Youth in El Salvador.  Following this the night of music and dancing will begin! Revolutionary Salvadoren Hip Hop Artists, El Guanaco from Seattle and Del Baja Mundo from NY will perform.  They will be followed by salsa music and dance from 11am to 2pm.

Very Cool!

I will definately make that one. My fingers are numb. I just walked back from downtown. Waved at your men Olycop. Next time, gloves! Oh and if you heard someone was dancing with a dog on the sidewalk outside El Guanaco, that was me. Loba has decided she likes disco. We really tried to shut her up. Leticia gave her water and I split my pupussa with her. Stupid dog. So I danced outside instead of inside. Really its much more fun to dance under the night sky than inside anyhow hehe.

Hugs, Crusty Christie
