In the Spirit of Peace

Arland Hurt and Bernie Myers (in the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi) present an event "In the Spirit of Peace". Join the people to embrace Gandhi's one-hundreth anniversary of his first non-violent protest against Prejudice and Racism. (As an Indian immigrant to the US, this has a very special appeal to me !)

Place : Sylvester Park - Downtown
Time : Sept 11th, 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm
Agenda : World Music, Religious Leaders, Community Leaders, talks, poems and prayers.
Who to call for more info ? - Arland Hurt - 360-480-1629. E-mail : -arland hurd < arlandhurd@hotmail.com>

Mandala for Peace

Creating Peace Within Ourselves, Within Our World

We invite you to co-create a sand-painted mandala for peace. The mandala will be in the lobby of Senior Services for South Sound, located in the Olympia Community Center, 222 Columbia St. NW, from September 5-11th.

On September 11th at 6 pm, we will convene for a ceremony that will offer an opportunity to explore and transform the myriad feelings present on this anniversary of 9/11. Various community leaders will speak, and a silent walking meditation will follow. We'll carry our prayers and intentions to the Sound to release and share them with the world.

Non-violence is not a garment to be put on and off at will. Its seat is in the heart and it must be an inseparable part of our very being." Mahatma Gandhi

To volunteer or receive more information regarding the event, please contact mandalaforpeace@yahoo.com or call CHRIS : 456-0514
