"...come on down to Plenty tonight, Thursday, November 9th, at 8 PM to hear the band Fishtank. They are an unusual ensemble consisting of violin, saw, accordion, shamisen, flamenco guitar, bass, percussion and voice. Rumanian folk music forms the bulk of the material, with a healthy helping of Flamenco, Swedish folk music, and Klezmer. I was lucky enough to catch them last year when they were in town and was overwhelmed by their virtuosity, energy and sheer musicality."

Holy Smokes!

Vince was soooooo freakin' right on about this band -- totally smokin'! Got to be seen to be believed. Six virtuosic musicians who play the hell out of thier instruments, yet are so tight that you couldn't see daylight between them. Fishtank Ensemble. They're playing in Seattle this weekend (Saturday and Sunday), so if anyone is up that way, check them out.

When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion. -C.P. Snow
