I saw it last night. It is hard to believe the statue of Gov. Rogers survived as it did. Too bad elm makes for musty smelling firewood. But even so, the State (Washington State owns the Park, not the city) could still cut it up for firewood and find worthy places for it. Sarah, isn't there a local program for this very kind of distribution?

Who, me? Oh right, yes as far as I know there is, at least I read about it often in the papers. State has coordinated with local before to get wood distributed from just these sorts of tree events.
