I took some pictures of the FLOD today from Heritage Park (while I was there for Arlington NW.) Here they are:

Capitol Lake with Dead Salmon Amid Thick Weeds

Capitol Dome Rises Above Festering Weed Mass in Capitol Lake

Capitol Lake
Kinda looks normal here

Capitol Lake
But don't look down!

Capitol Lake
Are these weeds just part of the normal growth cycle?

Capitol Lake
Maybe it is time to consider estuary restoration?

An estuary would make a great backdrop for the legislative building dome and the rest of the capitol campus.

My,

how Fetid. I wonder if any nutria are still inhabiting that Lake of Doom? Any sightings lately?

Great pics

Good eye, nice cam and a beautiful day.

What's a FLOD?

I tried to look this word up in online dictionaries, it isn't listed.

Fetid Lake of Doom

And, in defense of the weeds, they likely didn't take a chunk out of the salmon.

It was the Caimans in the lake

and the Jumbo Squid in the Sound that took bites out of the ersatz chum run. Them and those damn otters.
