As of last Tuesday, the long-time gastronomical institution in Mud Bay known as "The Place" transformed into "The Ship Wreck Cafe." Actually, it became the 2nd one of that name in this area, the first being in Lacey. The owner of "The Place" retired and sold to SWC, thus creating a mini-chain. The original staff of the Mud Bay restaurant have been kept, although they are fighting against "floundering" (get it?) with the new menu. I wish them all luck with the big change. Enjoyed a nice breakfast there today.
Meanwhile, on the retail front, Top Foods has just introduced Vegemite in the British food section. It shares the same shelf with the fabulous Marmite and also with a canned spongecake dessert known as "Spotted Dick." You heard right, I don't have to repeat it.
