drainage hose
Submitted by Robert Whitlock on Wed, 03/26/2008 - 2:25pm.If there are gray water drains running into the ravine from the houses (which abut the ravine): is it possible that they might contribute to the slide? Does anyone know what's up with the drain tubes?

didn't see that
Submitted by security_six on Wed, 03/26/2008 - 2:33pm.before. I'll check it out. I don't think the grey water had anything to do with the slide though. There used to be a footbridge present, and you can see the mess that was made when the slide happened, although some of it seems to have been picked up. I think the soil just got saturated and either a tree gave way or the dirt did and it let go. There was a LOT of water falling that day you know.

If there is gray water

Submitted by security_six on Wed, 03/26/2008 - 2:45pm.The trail is a pretty place but a couple of things have always bugged me about it. First is all that &$@#$! ivy! It doesn't belong. Period. The other thing is all the runoff from houses above it flow down hill and ultimately into the bay. I never paid attention to any runoff hoses, but will snoop around again when I get the chance. The trail is accessable from either end BTW if anyone else wants to poke around before I get the chance. Wear stout shoes to get past the mudslide.

When I took the pics
Submitted by security_six on Wed, 03/26/2008 - 3:08pm.Two young women and their dog were climbing over the slide. They looked a little surprised (nervous even?) at me while I was getting my camera out. There is a defined footpath in the slide now, and I have seen other people using the trail. Not so icky as it looks.
