That's beautiful...

but sad. (Oh, and now I know how to get to your mom's house.)

You say that there is

You say that there is nothing that you can do about her grief, but I'll bet that your visiting her helps.

This makes me think

about my own parents and what they will do without eachother. They are at 53 years together now. They've been through a lot together, and they are definitely in their twilight years. Both are survivors of various cancers, Mom just recently. I don't think one could go on without the other for very long. This makes me sad and happy. Sad because of the empathy I will have for their loss, yet happy that there is long lasting and real love out there. It gives me some hope for humans. Thanks for the posting, Gug. Keep up being an excellent son. Your Mom must be very proud of you.

Sad and lovely all at the same time.

WOW!

Very touching.  I must say I would have hoped for a different ending though...  I would have liked to have seen your mom standing at the door waiting for you!

GO GUGLIE!

Yep, me too.

I almost always find her just sitting at the kitchen table.

Much of that was

my Friday evening drive to Canyon Creek.  When I resume playing there, I'll always think of Mom Gug.

G Guy

Beautiful. Those of us with recently widowed mothers can relate. Your piece was very personal, yet universal.

I find myself responding to your video series with the same brain parts as if I was watching an old silent film. There is something about that particular method of storytelling that makes the viewer really invest themselves. Sort of like enjoying printed comix, since it involves reading and following visual images.

Thanks for enriching OlyBlog with your creativity.
