If we think we've been grumpy on the blog lately, we've got nothing going on this guy.  Somebody must've slipped the angry pill in his coffee.

My favorite line is at the end: "That camera's not on, is it?  Cause if I find myself on..."  Oops.

Dude!

No wonder he's cranky. What a ridiculous outfit! And the vehicle looks a little strange, too. Go Baltimore!

This Has Been All Over The Local Radio Stations

Dorrie, BJ Shay, etc!  General opinion is this cop should be fired, although BJ Shay thinks the cop rocked and the kid should have got his a$$ beat by his parents for disrespect!

I'm sure that kid wasn't the

I'm sure that kid wasn't the most helpful but the cop crossed the line, big time, no question.  He's a liablity to the BPD and if I were to guess, will become familiar with the job search.

I Agree With You!

His first mistake was charging the kid and choking him to the ground over a skateboard!  His second mistake was letting somebody film it!  LOL!

Makes me wonder...

How many times does this scenario, or one very similar to it, play out and DOESN'T get filmed.

Not as many times as when

Not as many times as when people break the law and don't get caught. =)

You think that's bad?

Yep

Saw that one last night as well.  WTF is going on?
»

OMG!

that's horrible.

Ironically, the one thing I never heard mentioned was the word "lawsuit"!  If anybody has a great case for one, I would think it was this man!

The wheelchair thing is inexcusable

as for the 14 y/o skater, I hope that cop scared the living crap out of him. He was a jerk, and needs to tone it down a bit, but, I feel, if more 14 y/o's in this world were cracked upside the head when they were being dumb*#$'s that we'd have far fewer problems in the world. I'm sure he'll recover from that little toss on the ground.

Boy do we disagree!

lol of course

You don't suppose that has any way to do with how we treated, and were treated by police growing up? How "anti-authority" we were at the time? I'm betting you had a bigger role in that arena than I did. I never had a problem with authority. I knew all of the local cops, and rarely got into trouble.
»

I'm sure you're right.

But I wasn't "anti-cop" (and I'm still not on some levels), until I felt cops were anti-me. I grew up dealing with living in a rough neighborhood and not being allowed to walk in groups of five or more because it was considered gang activity. I am no stranger to being treated in the same ways the kid in the video was treated. I've also lived in smaller towns where I knew the cops on a personal level and it was a much different relationship. The difference? In one situation the cops were outsiders, not from our neighborhood and didn't know us or anybody else that lived in the neighborhood. In the other, the cops were my neighbors and in some cases my friends parents. Guess which environment I got treated better in.

17 years on the force

I wonder how many victims are floating in this creep's wake. The really scary thing is that this is how he acts when there are witnesses.

This...

...makes me homesick. Ah the days of getting roughed up by cops who dip their noses in the evidence locker. What if that 14 year old had a concealed weapon? Did the cop ever think about that? Hopefully this will teach him to stand up for himself.

Deputy Arrested in Wheelchair Dump Video

Feb 16, 10:41 AM (ET)

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A deputy who was videotaped dumping a paralyzed man out of his wheelchair onto a Tampa jailhouse floor turned herself in.

Jail records show Charlette Marshall-Jones was booked into the Orient Road Jail early Saturday morning.

It is the same jail where Marshall-Jones worked. She is accused of tipping 32-year-old Brian Sterner out of his wheelchair. A videotape of the incident has been widely circulated.

The Hillsborough County deputy was charged with one count of felony abuse of a disabled person and released after posting $3,500 bail. An attorney for Marshall-Jones listed in jail records did not immediately return a phone message.
