Any ideas out there in the blog-o-sphere?

How does one exterminate a meme?

I'm thinking "labels" and "stereotypes" here...

...but I'm open; any thoughts?

You must be a Memephobe!!

;-) I don't want to enter into a debate about what is or is not a meme, but I know what you're getting at. I'll just agree for the greater good that it is indeed a meme and move forward.

To kill a meme. I think the only way, short of shooting its perpetuators, is to apply a heavy and regular does of memecide, otherwise known as the truth. Of course in this case I am referring to weed memes, the kind that crop up out of messy or dishonest thinking or both. My thread on net migration for example is an assault on the people vote with their feet meme used to prove how great the USA is. When you show people how ridiculous that kind of thinking is, the meme is weakened.

Um...

I'll take a guess...

Boil it for 15 minutes, throw in something saucy and simmer for a couple of hours before serving?

Jst <~~~ obviously has no idea what a meme is!
