Back to Basics

Well, that little snippet really says it all on so many levels. I'm glad to see OlyBlog is finally getting back to the issues that really matter. Thanks Chaney!

We need will_is_ok, Crenshaw, White Rabbit, and other dangerously unserious people to revive their blogs and bring some literary music back to a blog that is sometimes slipping into a frequent cacophony of crankiness. I can only revisit will's "Fudge" post so many times for spiritual renewal.

That sucks

Bizarre Mystery

I've wanted to move this to the front page since I first saw it but I'm bewildered by a strange fact: when I shift to edit mode there suddenly is no "there"......."there". Nothing shows up in the body of the post and when I try to move it anyway I'm told that because there is nothing in the body, I can't move it.

I tried just adding a > to see if that would help, but if I do so all I then see is the >. This morning as I try once again I saw a very brief tantalizing glimpse of code but then it disappeared once again into the will_is_okay void. Alas.

there you go

Do you have a mac or something? I blame it on Steve Jobs.

Not on Mac

And I've tried this on two different computers, neither Mac. Only thing in common is me, logged on as me. Spooky.

Thanks for popping it to front page, now everyone can enjoy!

the Panchen Lama was put in place by Communist China

The Peoples Republic of China decided who would be the current Panchen Lama....I don't know if they had anything to do with the current Dalai Lama. Sad how government borne persecution of its citizens (or citizens of countries it invades/decides it owns) always seek to suppress the religions.

Chaney

Thanks again for posting this. I'm dimly starting to see how will is demonstrating it is good to get out of one's self. That we are our own worst problem. To not turn every discussion into an opportunity to exhibit one's ego. To be able to walk away instead of risking one's integrity just to have the last petty word. Zen backwords is nez, nez=nose, or old factory, which is all our bodies are, merely old factories. But our souls can remain young if we allow them to be. I need more coffee.

Months later

and I still need more coffee. But this post is always worth revisiting.
