Any takers?
Submitted by Rob Richards on Mon, 03/10/2008 - 9:33pm.*items checked out from the Olympia Timberland Library - This one is interesting also. It could be an ongoing thing where every week ten people in the community are chosen to share what they have checked out from the library and why. We could constantly be taking submissions and create a pool of them to choose from. Self generating content is like gold.
Hahahahahhaha :)
Submitted by Chia on Tue, 03/11/2008 - 9:23am.For the library series, I was just going to do a review type thing of items I've checked out but I like your idea of making it a community-oriented series. How would you suggest collecting the information? Do you think a drop-box in the information room would do it? I could make up the box and take it to the library if someone would like to make a sign explaining what it's for. I would feel more comfortable if someone who knows OlyBlog better than I do explains the project.

Sorry
Submitted by Rob Richards on Tue, 03/11/2008 - 10:18am.As far as the library thing, I was thinking somebody could get some friends to help flyer for it weekly and set up an email address that people could write to, then the submissions would be stored by date and you would just pull them to run them on the blog. It might be information the library would be into using as well. If somebody wanted to get a bit more sophisticated it could be done on video, and people could sign up to do it.
No Apology Necessary.
Submitted by Chia on Tue, 03/11/2008 - 10:24am.I could create and post a flyer at the library (and elsewhere) with the e-mail address if someone else would like to track and post the responses?

Submitted by security_six on Mon, 03/10/2008 - 9:49pm.Just thinking outloud. I know someone also who has her kids in the system, and it has failed them and her miserably. I don't have her permission to tell the story though. I'm deeply unimpressed by the quality of attention the state and the social workers give though. The foster parents are great, but the state is failing them.
No, I'm going to get a ride along with OPD and write that up.
