How tolerant and knowledgeable is the Olympia citizenry on Islam, and Islamic cultures?

I'm trying to learn as much as I can, but most folks that I meet are really ignorant when it comes to Islam...

I have been looking into work in Dubai (UAE), and that started me down the path to learn more.

...any thoughts? discussion group offline?

Outreach to the Islamic Community

The social environment in America is not altogether completely comfortable for many (if not most) Muslims. But there are some local groups organizing.

"Islamophobia" seems like pretty harsh term - but you're probably right that there is some of it going around.

Try this: Islamic Center of Olympia. Maybe there are volunteer opportunities.

love it-

-that is good info Bert...loved the pic of the building under construction in Olympia on the website.

WHOA: I don't mean to imply that Oly is lame, just wondering if others are running into as much talk as I am~
