As soon as I can figure out how to get the pictures off my cell phone's "mini chip" and put them on my computer, I'll post the shots of the work that the kids are doing on the mural at the Elks Lodge.

Calling all technoids. Old man, that thinks technology is Pong, in need of help.

Meanwhile take a drive or walk past the lodge and see some great work.

Has anyone seen a Docent?

Wow! If this isn't a perfect example of the "hate filled comments" that the OlyBlog docents take such offense to, I don't know what is!! How did this make it to the front page? Aren't you supposed to be relegating Anonymously Larry to his own quiet corner in the background because of his "hate filled comments?" Larry - why do you hate the Elks so much that you won't bother to learn how to use your cell phone? And why do you hate Olympia so much that you suggest that people get in their war makers (i.e. cars) to go see said mural? boy, I didn't see your point before, Oh great Docent, but how can I deny it now that I've read the venom spewing from Anonymously Larry. Please, stop the hate!

?

Marcie, before you continue down this road I'd recommend reading the initial e-mail regarding A.L.'s posts. As you may notice, taking his post off of the front page in no way reflected on Larry, rather, it had everything to do with the "venom" and ignorance present in a lot of the Olympian's haloscan comments.

Thanks for for your concern.

cell phone pictures

Hey Larry,

I think this all depends on what sort of cell phone you have. If you have something to connect it to your computer with then you can upload the images directly. If not, then you'll need an internet plan from your cell phone provider to send the images to yourself vis a vis e-mail, or flickr, or some other option. My cell phone, for example, strands pictures on it with not connection, and I refuse to pay the fee just to upload the lame low-resolution pictures my cell phone is capable of taking.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful here. I'll try to make it by the building on one of my photo walks through Oly.

They do make SD card readers

They do make SD card readers for PC's. I "think" they even make portable versions and possibly a blogger out there could lend a hand. Otherwise you may have to check if your cell phone manufacturer owns a cord that will connect to a PC. OR you could use the phone to email them to yourself. That's all I can come up with.....Oh, and Marcie, invest in valium.

Elks Building

Hey Larry, We've got photos too. Been trying to track the progress day by day and we were waiting until things were finished before posting things. Also we'll get photos of the crew. Would love to see what you have. thanks, CIAG

Send Cellphone Pictures to Flickr

Get a Flickr.com account (it is free). Flickr alows you to send photos directly from you phone to your Flickr account, which can be accessed by anyone you desire. It is cool.

Thanks to everyone for the help....

Marcie....I absolutely LOVE your sense of humor. You and I could get banned from The Olympian together. Too late, I was already banned. Thanks for the tips on the photos. I think now, even I can handle it.

How 'bout some golf?

Miniature golf, that is! I happen to be a trophy-winning miniature golf player and play a mean windmill. Know of a good course within 20 miles?

Thanks for volunteering

A non-profit, for which I serve on the Board of Directors, is considering a new fundraising project   - a miniature golf tournament.  By the way, our organization, Rebuilding Together Thurston County, does home rehabilitation for low income, elderly and disabled home owners.  I'd love to have a miniature golf expert help me put this tournament together.  Party Outfitters, for whom I did some marketing work a couple of years ago, has the minigolf holes.  If we need a planning session, I think Parkland Putters in Tacoma is still open.

I'll still buy that quad.
