Far into the dreamscape, above the clouds and rain,
is a place where stars are born and spirits feel no pain—
Joining hands on earth, in a freedom born of faith,
we pass the peace among us and pray to end all hate.

Deep within each person, unbridled and untamed,
are passions coursing crimson like twilight set aflame—
The differences between us melt like snow in a warm wind
when we treat a passing stranger as a newfound friend.

Let your spirit soar with mine into the otherworld
and seal tight the magic learned deep within your heart—
Then when the moon blooms full and pulses with new life,
dance naked with your shadow and waltz into the light.

Hanging in there

December was a tumultuous month. My dad passed away unexpectedly (bad accident). I was overwhelmed by large youthful bodies spread all over my livingroom when my kids came out. That part was most enjoyable. Volunteering off and on at Camp Quixote. Stay busy helping out at St. John's. Gave the Olympia Tumwater Foundation my number today for volunteer grounds maintenance at the waterfall park. (Loba dearly loves that place.) Started editing a novella translated from Arabic to English. Do a lot of fishing off and on when my fingies aren't in danger of freezing (no more rowing until spring).

How about you?

Hugs, Christie

You mentioned your Dad's

You mentioned your Dad's passing when we met on the street and you've been in my thoughts ever since. The grief process can be so overwhelming and I'm glad you are finding enjoyable things to do as you cope. I'm especially thrilled that you found a volunteer opportunity to share with Loba!! Ha!

I'm doing quite well. Back in class and enjoying learning new skills. Testing out the waters of using my voice on OlyBlog. Also in touch with a cousin in the area and hope to get together soon. I've craved family connection since moving here.

Here's a {hug} back at you :)

Thanks Chia!

Loba is my constant companion for the most part. She even goes to church haha. If you see me with my head down a mole hill, please exert firm pressure upon my legs and pull me out! She's right friskie for an old girl! We take turns on who leads and who follows.

Hugs back at ya', Christie

Crusty

Thank you for still sharing with us. You are giving a very needed slap of cold water in our faces. I consider you a founding parent of this blog and always appreciated your energy. I enjoyed the time we cleaned up the Fetid Lake of Doom together. Please don't stop contributing your poetry. Amid all the "serious" political bickering we need diversion to real life. Your poetry takes us there. Thanks Crusty.

Used to Bickering!

I have three grown kids who STILL bicker. I have a cat and dog who endlessly bicker (with the cat generally winning). I'm used to it!

Hugs, Christie

Cats will always win

I have four, yes, four of them. Someone very special to me likes to visit and proclaim, "You have four cats." Have I exceeded some unspoken quota? In the winter, when they are all housebound, it is like having four toddlers.
