So as not to hijack a thread, I am responding in depth to Norm's statement that I need to "Live a little" when it comes to European guns.:-)

Personally I like nearly every Russian gun I have put my hands on.  Even the puny little Nagant revolver is fascinating, and fills a useful niche.  I have an SKS of Russian pattern, a Mosin Nagant M38 carbine, and am saving my pennies for an AK-47.

I have owned or currently own US, British, German, Russian and Italian guns.  Time and time again I come back to the Russian ones.  Usually ugly, somewhat crude and dated, they just plain WORK.

What more can you ask for from a gun?

Well

Being a bit of a collector myself. I own, or have owned, at least one firearm made in Germany, Austria, Brazil, Czechaslavakia, Switzerland, and of course the great ol' US. I'm sure I'm missing a country somewhere in there, but 2 of the countries you named there, Germany and Switzerland, have some GREAT firearms manufacturers in them. Just thought I'd point that out. :)

Forgot...

The vz24 I used to own and regret selling.  Am tempted to get a Swiss K-31, but room is always an issue on the boat.

I've owned or handled firearms from all over the world, and keep coming back to Russian rifles, US shotguns (Mossberg and Remington) and Ruger handguns.

Although I REALLY want a .455 Webely revolver.  That would be sweet.  I would make that my primary open carry weapon in a hearbeat.

Are Either Of You Married

to real women or do you just curl up at night with your guns? LOL!

Sadly

Not married, but between my guns and a body-pillow I am taking it day-by-day.

Happily divorced

And she was as much a gun nut as I am, but she wanted kids, and there is no way in heck I ever want kids.  I date now and then, but am never searching for a serious relationship...

I like those S&W snubbies, but the lightweight alloy ones annoy me.  Too much bite.  I'll take a nice chief's special if I could get a good deal on one.
