Strange....

I enjoyed this, and I like the song and everything, but it kind of freaked me out that everyone seemed to be producing these sort of exaggerated imitations of Joe Strummer's voice. They all sound MORE like Joe Strummer than he did! Weird... And when did Bruce Springsteen get so old? I mean, Elvis Costello has always been old, that was no shock, but... everyone's getting old! Is it going to happen to me someday, too?

How do you know it hasn't already?

Do you feel old? You don't look old, if that's what you're worried about. You'll get old while you worry about it if you're not careful.

I imagine they were trying to justice to Strummer, it was a tribute after all. Besides, have you ever heard anybody sing that song better than Strummer himself? I haven't. I posted this because this song epitomizes my thoughts of our town right now. The chorus is perfect for me right now:

The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Engines stop running and the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
Olympia is drowning-and I live by the river

Olympia is drowning...

And I live by the river.

Given my lifestyle choices, I had to chuckle at that.
