My name is Alex Mutnick,I am a local photographer, and several months ago I submitted to the Seattle PI to have a reader blog covering local Olympia art events and local artists. The PI agreed that it was a good idea and I will start the blog in the next couple of weeks. I currently am curating two galleries that are looking for unknown artists, and I would like so good candidates for monthly stories. I am reaching out to the community to please let me know what you would like to see covered in my blog and if there are any artists you would like to see written about. please send information to olyartblog@gmail.com
Thanks,
Alex Mutnick

and we're in the midst of a clowning renaissance.
The Northwest Festival of Clowns is coming to Olympia for the first time in 9 years.
You'd have to work hard to scoop the other embedded reporters, but competition helps us all achieve our finest work. You get the pics and story. We get the audience. The audience gets the laughs.
Win-win-win.

Suggestion
Visit the Danger Room (4th and Columbia) and check out their rack of comix by local cartoonists. See if any work there grabs you and track down the artist. There is a lot of fresh talent around Oly yet to be recognized and the Danger Room has been very supportive over the years in giving self-publishers a venue to market their publications.
Sounds like a great project. Good luck to you on this venture.
