I caught the buzz on a recent purchase the Starbuck's company made, and reflected that my local cafe of choice is "way ahead of the curve" when it comes to taste, service, and darn good espresso.

While I don't drink coffee, I do drink espresso, so when I saw an announcement online I tracked the links down, wondering if all good start-ups are just looking to get "owned"?

"Mr. Schultz also announced the acquisition of the Coffee Equipment Company, the four-year-old Seattle-based maker of the Clover coffee machine, which brews a more expensive, higher-quality coffee one cup at a time. The price was not disclosed. Starbucks will roll out Clover systems in select markets." (link added)

I'm curious what else will happen this year in the coffee scene here in the Pacific NW~

B&B had a Clover when they first came out

It didn't last all that long. Cool machine. I tried it a few times and tried even harder to appreciate the product. Didn't get it. Who ever thought something like coffee could be so complicated.

bodum

Now, I'm curious if anyone has a line on a vacuum-bottle style bodum (that'd rock)...like for camping or at least not breaking (most are glass)...I have gone through so many of those =)

I have a stainless travel mug with a press

that I use when I backpack. Forget where I got it. I'll look up the brand name. Not the best quality, but it works and doesn't break.
