On Friday, May 4th, Bradden W. Ferber was served foreclosure papers. Later that day, he got in a DUI car wreck. Reports say that Bradden began to run, but was confronted by Officer Hovda. He was shot in the stomach by Hovda while simultaneously shooting himself in the head.
Though the news stories have varied considerably, we are deeply concerned about this event. We know too well the violence of the pgs. We know that at any moment, we could also recieve foreclosure papers or an eviction notice. No matter what Bradden's autopsy reveals, we know that he was killed by two bullets: One from the madness of society, and one from those who enforce that madness.
Please join us in the streets on Saturday, May 12th at 9pm, at 4th and Washington. We are going to march in remembrance of Bradden W. Ferber and all victims of police violence, and the violence of this society.

Mr. Ferber
is not a victim of popo violence. He drank too much, he drove his car and crashed it then wandered into someone's apartment. After that he was challenged by the popo and he shot himself in the head. That is a tragedy but his death is not the popo's fault.
Mr. Ferber
I too mourn Mr. Ferbers death. I pray for him and his family. I pray for the father and the child in the car that he hit and could have possibly injured or killed. I pray for the father who had the foresight to get his kids inside an apartment when Mr. Ferber went inside his apartment knowing the police were on their way. I pray for the father who stood facing Mr. Feber when Mr. Ferber came back out with his hands shoved into his coat pocket and an obvious bulge in the pocket. I pray for b**bs like you who make assumptions based on little to no factual basis. I am a well regarded professional in social justice- social services and pray for the officer who was forced to use force on Mr. Ferber. I am the person whom Mr. Ferber hit and am thankful that I had dropped my ten year old child of at a friend’s home not just ten minutes prior to the very hard collision because he certainly could have been injured or worse. I am thankful that all the kids who were in that parking lot have only minimal trauma processing to do rather than either witnessing the event or even hearing the shots. While you’re protesting tonight why don’t you pass the hat because this single father won’t be able to afford the deductable to fix the family vehicle for a while. I was protected and served last Friday and I am thankful for that.
I’m not offering any of this to enlighten you or change your world view but as a piece of cathartic healing for me. I pray the universe never puts you or your children in the path of someone who was as impaired by alcohol as Mr. Ferber was, despaired of life, reckless to those around him and who chooses that moment to take his life.
