Submitted by chris on Wed, 01/25/2006 - 2:18pm.Hm, he left out a small detail that it doesn't matter how many anonymizer tunneling tools ISPs allow us to use.
The real privacy issue is that carnivore box in the corner that belongs to the FBI and is plugged into the ISP's backbone ... but not technically owned by the ISP, therefore unregulated by the same rules.
Don't forget also that it's illegal to sell software with privacy capability (pgp email, ssh, etc) to anyone in a "terrorist" country.
Online privacy is not just an American problem.
