Seriously, this is why certain sections of the world aren't going to modernize.

What!? Hamas won the election!? Seize the government building!

BEIRUT, Lebanon - The controversy over Danish caricatures of Prophet Muhammad escalated Monday as gunmen seized an EU office in Gaza and Muslims appealed for a trade boycott of Danish products. Denmark called for its citizens in the Middle East to exercise vigilance.

The boycotting, whatever. Feel free to spend your money as you please. In fact, it's probably better the money go toward local ownership. But storming a government building because someone drew up a caricature of Muhammad?

Gunmen make kidnap threats over Mohammad cartoon

On Wednesday, two other European newspapers -- Die Welt in Berlin, Germany, and France Soir in Paris -- published the cartoons. Both papers said they were printing the drawings in solidarity with Jyllands-Posten, citing the right to publish them in a free society with a free press.

All that this does is give credibility to the notion that we, western nations, have to go into certain segments of the world and give an attitude adjustment.

These Arabic countries have to get a handle on an ever increasing problem, something both they and the west should have done a long time ago.

Of course, after the recent victory of Hamas, maybe this is the type of Islam the majority is in support of.
