I'm told that another impact
Submitted by Sarah on Sun, 02/05/2006 - 10:02am.I've also noticed the removal of many benches, including up at the mall, benches that were used by non-smokers also.
I know of a coffee house downtown that had a few chairs and tables outside the front door for customers, including smokers. I'm told that complaints to the health department came in about people still smoking outside, too close to front door. Health department stuck signs on the outdoor tables, but complaints still came in.
Health department spoke to staff, but really, what can the staff do? They are not able to patrol the outside sidewalk.
I do like Rick's idea on how to show support for the businesses, in this case, the pubs.

Does "unfunded mandate" fit this law? No funds for enforcement.
