Plastic Easter eggs loaded with obscenities have landed on lawns in Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater.

Police say a neo-Nazi type group spread the eggs and flyers. The containers held obscene images, slurs against homosexuals and slurs against certain minorities.

Jim,I'm with you on the First

Jim,

I'm with you on the First Amendment issue. But please, for the sake of combating these "communists" who are looking to import European-style limits on free speech to the US, how does this help our case that such action is not necessary?

This isn't free speech. It is

This isn't free speech. It is littering private property with trash. Just like any other unsolicited advertising. However, in this case, the content really is trash.

I can just imagine what Easter is going to be like this year in Olympia. During the Easter egg hunts, will the little ones come home with an egg filled with candy, or with semi-literate, fear-inspired, hate-filled scrawlings by some seriously sick people? I hope the FBI plants that are probably already in their little group are well compensated for what they have to go through.

I know this isn't free speech

I know this isn't free speech. My point, however, was that there are people in this country who would be more than happy to see "hate speech" laws in the US.

The gentleman in the article even seemed to allude to it.

It's actions like this (dumping crap all over people's lawns) that does nothing to help those of us who say, "Their group is protected by the First Amendment."

I was simply asking Jim how leaving unsolicited material on someone else's lawn helps.

I hope he answers. My stealt

I hope he answers.

My stealth analysis based on reading and listening to him is that he doesn't want this to help. The purpose of the drop is to soften us up, piss us off, make us vulnerable. Maybe attract a few recruits too who are into trash.

Plus, the NSM is all too eager to take things to court.

They're obviously just trying

They're obviously just trying to frame the Easter bunny as a neo-nazi. What with all the hate-filled Easter eggs and the complete lack of Passover eggs.

Damn skinhead.

One good thing about their eg

One good thing about their eggs: they don't cause diabetes.
